Project Background

This proposed $3.2 million project would install a shared use path on Route 33 (General Puller Highway) in Middlesex County. The path would provide pedestrian and bicycle accommodations.

The shared use path would be built from the Middlesex County Volunteer Rescue Squad to Greens Cove Road. The path would connect multiple marinas located along Route 33 with Deltaville and the Deltaville Maritime Museum. The shared use path would also include crosswalks. Residential and business access would be maintained during the construction of the project.

The project is being funded through the Transportation Alternatives Program.

The project would be advertised to potential bidders for construction in December 2027, with crews anticipated to mobilize in March 2028.
