FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Randolph-Macon Softball has four representatives named to the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) All-State Team from the 2023 season.

Senior pitcher and utility player Rilee Baughan (Warsaw, Va./Rappahannock) was named State Player of the Year as well as First Team All-State. Sophomore pitcher Gracie Ellis (New Kent, Va./New Kent) was named State Pitcher of the Year and First Team All-State. Sophomore catcher Kayla Davis (Powhatan, Va./Powhatan) and sophomore outfielder Amanda Lanyon (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) were both named First Team All-State as well.

Rilee Baughan shined both in the circle and at the plate this season for RMC. In the circle, Baughan finished 17-5 with a 1.62 ERA in 151.2 innings pitched. At the plate, she led the Yellow Jackets with nine home runs and 54 RBI. Baughan batted .341 on the year with an OPS north of .970, which also led the Yellow Jackets. She was also named ODAC Player of the Year as well as All-Region VI First Team.

Gracie Ellis re-wrote the record book for RMC softball this season in the circle. She finished the season 25-5 with a program record 234 strikeouts in 199.2 innings. Ellis threw 26 complete games and threw to the tune of a 1.33 ERA and a 0.72 WHIP. After the season, she was named ODAC Pitcher of the Year and First Team, All-Region VI First Team, and Third Team All-American by NFCA.

Kayla Davis finished with 16 extra base hits on the year, batting .349 with 37 RBI. She was a tough out, only striking out seven times all season in 175 at bats. Davis was key in postseason play and notably hit a walk-off three-run home run to sweep nationally-ranked Virginia Wesleyan during the season. Davis was also named to the All-ODAC Second Team as well as Third Team All-Region VI.

Amanda Lanyon was the table-setter at the top of the order, batting .364 with an OPS north of .900. She led the Yellow Jackets with 19 doubles on the year and was second with 34 stolen bases. While leading the team in at bats with 184, Lanyon struck out just 11 times all year. Lanyon was named to the All-ODAC First Team earlier this season.
