FREDERICKSBURG – Starting Monday, March 10, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will close Route 625 (Bobs Hole Road) in Middlesex County to replace two large drainage pipes.
Bobs Hole Road over Mill Creek will close between Route 33 and Route 624 (Regent Road) in the Topping area for approximately two weeks.
Crews will remove two culverts underneath the road and install two new pipes with concrete headwalls. The new pipes are approximately 40 feet long, with a diameter of 5 feet, which are the same size as the existing ones.
Drivers will be detoured to the following routes, which is about six miles:
- Route 624 (Regent Road)
- Route 622 (Dirt Bridge Road)
- Route 3 (Greys Point Road)
- Route 33 (General Puller Highway)

Message boards will be posted today to alert drivers to the road closure.
Access to all residential entrances will be maintained on both approaches to the road closure.
Weather permitting, Bobs Hole Road is anticipated to reopen by Monday, March 24.
