Richmond police officer and gospel singer Mervin Mayo did not advance to the quarterfinals on the current season of “America’s Got Talent,” despite impressing the judges and audience during his audition round.
Mayo, 48, received “yes” votes from all four judges after performing Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” earlier this year, but ultimately was not chosen as one of the 44 acts taking part in the live shows that began this month.
