Gov. Glenn Youngkin has taken himself out of the running for President-elect Donald Trump’s Cabinet, but a number of Trump’s picks have Virginia ties — including two of the most controversial.

Matt Gaetz, Trump’s choice for attorney general, is a graduate of the College of William & Mary Law School.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., an environmental lawyer and critic of vaccines and fluoride who is Trump’s pick for secretary of Health and Human Services, grew up at Hickory Hill in Fairfax County as the third child of Robert and Ethel Kennedy’s 11 children. He has a degree from the University of Virginia.

Rep. Mike Waltz, R-Fla., Trump’s choice for national security adviser, graduated from Virginia Military Institute with honors and is a former Green Beret.
