Some Virginia residents can receive a COVID-19 vaccine without needing a prescription, the state health department said Thursday in updated guidance.
Adults ages 65 and up and adults with preexisting conditions can receive the shot without a prescription, Dr. Karen Shelton, the State Health Commissioner, said in a standing order. Adults under 65 without a preexisting condition and minors will still need to consult a health care provider before getting the jab.
