It’s official.  St. Margaret’s School in Tappahannock will not reopen for the 2025-26 school year.  This according to a letter sent to St. Margaret’s Alumni by the Board of Trustees of Church Schools in the Diocese of Virginia.  The Trustees reached the decision after consideration of the schools enrollment and fundraising as well as the prospects for returning St. Margaret’s to financial sustainability in the years ahead.  St. Margaret’s will be refunding enrollment deposits and any other tuition payments made in advance.  School officials will work with families and students to explore placement options at other schools.  St Margaret’s School was started in 1921.
