Spotsylvania County authorities on Thursday night said the suspect in a triple homicide on White Street Court was captured in Steuben County, N.Y., after a high-speed vehicle chase on Interstate 86.
A spokesperson for the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office said that Alyssa Jane Venable, 23, of Spotsylvania, was detained on Thursday evening after New York State Police troopers on I-86 in Steuben County initiated a traffic stop on a gray 2009 Honda Civic that matched the description of Venable’s vehicle. Venable fled the scene.
The pursuit reached speeds up to 100 mph, according to the spokesperson. It ended when police deployed a tire deflation device, causing Venable to crash.
Venable was arrested and taken to a local hospital for evaluation, the spokesperson said. Authorities in New York and Virginia are coordinating her extradition to Spotsylvania.
