Tappahannock Artists Guild announces the launch of the TAG Art Fellowship, an 8-week enrichment program for high school students in Essex County and surrounding areas. This fellowship will provide dedicated, motivated young artists with access to professional instruction, peer collaboration, and opportunities for artistic growth.

Artist and former St. Margaret’s School art teacher Ellen Werner will lead the weekly sessions for Art Fellows. “I’m excited to lead a group of young artists with this new fellowship opportunity with TAG,” says Werner. “Teens oftentimes don’t have a designated space to do their art or have a set time to work on their art outside of school. This is where the fellowship at TAG comes in. With this weekly time set aside for teens, they can devote time and energy to their work without distractions. I will be helping them build their portfolios and assist them with their art in weekly sessions in the art gallery of TAG.”

In addition to the weekly sessions, TAG Fellows will get free admission to TAG art workshops, and will receive a certificate at the end of the fellowship.

Students can be nominated for the fellowship by their teachers, or may nominate themselves with a portfolio. Applications are due September 26. Information can be found at https://tapparts.org/art-fellowship/
