VCU received a report that the Theta Chi fraternity physically battered prospective members, forced them to perform extreme physical calisthenics, required them to consume alcohol and committed acts of “mental degradation,” according to a university alert.

Theta Chi has committed numerous violations in recent years, according to VCU’s student organization conduct report. Last year, VCU suspended the organization for almost four years.
