A week after the University of Virginia marked the two-year anniversary of a deadly shooting on Grounds, the former student who shot and killed three of his schoolmates agreed to a plea deal that could result in five life sentences.

In a Wednesday morning hearing in Albemarle County Circuit Court, 25-year-old Christopher Darnell Jones Jr. pleaded guilty to three charges of first-degree murder, two charges of malicious wounding and five firearms charges.
