Virginia’s job market worsened at the end of last year, as cuts to federal government jobs drove the state’s unemployment rate up and labor force down in the first year of President Donald Trump’s second term in the White House.
The state’s unemployment rate inched up by 0.1% to 3.6% in December, the first increase since July.
