Virginia Commonwealth University President Michael Rao has received a 16% raise, representing a significant statement of confidence from the university’s board of visitors.
Rao’s job title also changed — he is no longer president of VCU Health System. A state watchdog this year recommended that the person holding the position of VCU president no longer also be president of the health system.
