Virginia Republicans on Saturday chose state Sen. Mark Peake, R-Lynchburg, to succeed Rich Anderson as chairman of the state GOP.

Peake topped Scott Pio, chairman of the Loudoun County Republican Committee, in balloting by the party’s State Central Committee.
