Virginia sees little change in national educational assessment

Virginia’s 2024 results on the National Assessment of Educational Progress, a congressionally mandated assessment, saw no significant change since the last results in 2022, which showed that fourth-graders in Virginia have suffered some of the largest declines in reading and math proficiency in the nation since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
