With a new presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, debate talks are heating up, and Virginia’s U.S. senators want Virginia State University to stay in the conversation about a debate or campaign appearance.
A Virginia State spokeswoman said the university is not in talks with anyone regarding a debate at VSU.
The Commission on Presidential Debates had put VSU on its schedule to host a general election presidential debate this fall, but President Joe Biden in May rejected the schedule, apparently ending VSU’s opportunity to host a debate.
