Former Governor Doug Wilder says Virginia needs to push back against the four rapid-fire Trump administration attacks on George Mason University, after Washington’s political pressure on the University of Virginia forced President Jim Ryan out.
Wilder joined General Assembly Democrats in charging President Donald Trump with politicized overreach, and said Gov. Glenn Youngkin and Attorney General Jason Miyares are going along with a federal attack on the schools’ efforts to broaden access to education through diversity, equity and inclusion programs.
