WASHINGTON – Yesterday, Congressman Rob Wittman (R-VA-01) released the following statement on the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Inspector General (OIG) report, which revealed mismanaged surgical service and deficient quality management at Hampton VA Medical Center:
“I am disturbed to see the troubling findings in this report, including disregard for patient safety and failure to report multiple cases of substandard care.
“Our brave U.S. service members and veterans have selflessly put their lives on the line to defend our country – the least we can do is provide them with quality medical care.
“I’m committed to holding the VA accountable and conducting congressional oversight to ensure our military community receives the quality healthcare they deserve.”
