Gov. Glenn Youngkin has fired one of his own appointees to the University of Virginia’s governing Board of Visitors.
Bert Ellis, whom Youngkin appointed in 2022, has been officially removed from the board, according to a letter to Ellis the governor’s office issued Wednesday. Youngkin attributed his decision to Ellis’ conduct, which over the years has been characterized as outspoken and combative.
