The three pharmaceutical giants that have in recent weeks said they’ll invest a total of $12.5 billion in new Virginia facilities are kicking in $120 million more to build a center for training the high-tech workers they will need.

The new Center for Advanced Pharmaceutical Manufacturing will be turning out graduates in two years time, said Gov. Glenn Youngkin. He announced a memorandum of understanding with AstraZenecaEli Lilly and Merck along with Virginia Commonwealth University, James Madison University, Hampton University, the University of Virginia, Virginia Tech and the Virginia Community College System.
