Gov. Glenn Youngkin is creating an Office of Recovery and Rebuilding to track Virginia’s response to widespread damage by the remnants of Hurricane Helene last month in Southwest Virginia.
Secretary of Finance Steve Cummings told legislators on Tuesday that the governor is creating the office largely to track state spending on the storm response and recovery so Virginia can ask the federal government for reimbursement.
