The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies responded to Russell Lane in Lancaster County near Litwalton on Saturday, May 17 around 5:45pm for a report of a hunting accident.
Deputies rendered first aid until Emergency Services arrived. The victim was identified as 14 year-old Cason Chilton and was then airlifted to VCU in Richmond. LifeEvac then diverted back to RGH in Kilmarnock when Chilton succumbed to his injuries.
Chilton was hunting on the last day of turkey season and was unloading the 4-wheeler when the accident occurred.
