There were 40 State Senate seats and 100 State House seats up for grabs in the off-year General Elections that was held yesterday. Early voting this year got it all started before the General Election Day. Tom Davis has results from the area’s contested races.

In the local Senate races in the 25th District Incumbent Richard Stuart was the winner.

Also incumbent Ryan T. McDougle won in the 26th District.

As for the House of Delegates in the 67th District Hillary Pugh Kent received 66 percent of the votes. Kent replaces Margaret Ransone who retired.

In Essex County

The new Clerk of the Circuit Court is Christina A. Ambrose. Who succeeds Gayle Ashworth who is retiring.

The Commissioner of Revenue is Kristin Andrews Foster. Who succeeds Tommy Blackwell who also is retiring.

and the South District School Board winner in Essex County is Chris W. Hundley.

In King & Queen County

Re-elected Sheriff is W. R. “Rob” Balderson.

For Clerk of the Circuit Court the winner was Hattie M. Robinson.

In Lancaster County

Diane H. Mumford was re-elected as Clerk of the Circuit Court.

Charles Brocklebank was elected to the White Stone Town Council.

In Middlesex County

Rachel K. Hartenbach was re-elected as Clark of Court.

Wayne H. Jessie, Sr. will serve again as Jamaica District Supervisor.

Also Randy Crittenden will be the Pinetop District Supervisor.

In the contested races in Northumberland County

Charles “Chip” Williams, is now on the Board of Supervisors. Williams replaces Ronnie Jett who passed away earlier this year.

And re-elected as the 4th District School Board was Betty Christopher

In Westmoreland County

Incumbent C. O. Balderson was re-elected as Sheriff.

Woody Hynson was re-elected as 4th District Supervisor

And the race for District 3 Supervisor it’s too close to call with Matthew D. Ingram leading over Dorothy Dickerson Tate by only 9 votes.
