A bill that would encourage open enrollment within Virginia’s public school divisions will be considered by a Senate panel on Thursday afternoon.
Sen. Mark Peake, R-Lynchburg, who is sponsoring the Senate bill, said it aims to give children more opportunities, while putting pressure on underperforming schools to improve in order to keep families from leaving.
