Disco Sports, a well-known sporting goods shop in western Henrico County, will close its retail store, it announced on Facebook this week. The 54-year-old business will continue to sell individualized jerseys to teams, schools and companies.
Disco faced pressure from mega-retailers such as Amazon, a lack of interest in its website and competition from manufacturers that sold baseball bats and gloves directly to consumers.
