With President-elect Donald Trump continuing to promise mass deportations during his second term in the White House, Richmond-area police departments are opting to focus more on local crime than immigration battles.
Richmond, Henrico County and Chesterfield County police and the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office told the Richmond Times-Dispatch that they do not have any agreements with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to conduct immigration enforcement activities.
