TYSONS CORNER — Gov. Glenn Youngkin offered a helping hand to federal workers and contractors on Monday, while standing firmly behind President Donald Trump’s push to eliminate their jobs.

The Republican governor called the president’s government overhaul “appropriate and needed,” but acknowledged that it will fall heavily on federal workers and private contractors who underpin the economy in Northern Virginia that, in turn, drives state revenues to pay for public services across the state.
