Two years after the Virginia Department of Education released the revised version of the state’s K-12 history standards that caused a public uproar due to missteps and what critics called “whitewashing,” the state education department still has not released all of the accompanying teaching materials.

With just four of the 13 instructional guides published, the state’s new history standards are set to go into effect this fall.
