FREDERICKSBURG – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) invites the public to share their feedback on existing travel conditions along Route 200 in Lancaster County.
This STARS (Strategically Targeted Affordable Roadway Solutions) study will assess potential safety and operational improvements along Route 200 between Old Saint Johns Road and Yorkshire Road in Lancaster County.
The purpose of the study is to address safety, congestion and access management identified within the study area.
Project partners include Lancaster County and the Northern Neck Planning District Commission.
Comments received at this stage will help determine which locations along Route 200 in the study area should be reviewed for potential improvements.
Take an online survey to submit comments:https://publicinput.com/route200study
The online survey will be open to accept comments through May 27, 2025.
Through the STARS program, VDOT collaborates with local planning staff and stakeholders to address transportation challenges at key locations throughout Virginia.
Draft recommendations for potential projects will be presented to the public in fall 2025. The public will be able to comment on the draft recommendations before the plan is finalized.
The study will not set construction dates for any improvements but will develop proposed improvements that localities can pursue for funding.
For individuals who prefer to share comments in writing or by email, comments may be sent to Linda LaSut, VDOT Assistant Planning Manager, 87 Deacon Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22405, or emailed to [email protected]. Please reference “Route 200 in Lancaster” in the email subject line.
Print copies of the online survey are available to be mailed to the public. To request a mailed copy of the survey, please contact the project manager at (540) 899-4260.
