Most Virginians think President Donald Trump‘s moves to hike import taxes will weaken the economy and more than half say the president is wrong to eliminate diversity programs in government, a new poll from Virginia Commonwealth University’s Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs.
But nearly half think immigrants crossing the Mexican border pose a major problem for the nation, and more than two-thirds think transgender athletes should only play sports that match their birth gender.
