On October 7, 2025, King and Queen County deputies responded to Newtown Road for a domestic assault. The suspect, Dwayne Campbell, assaulted an adult female victim during a violent incident that began in Tappahannock and continued through Essex County into King and Queen County. During the assault, Campbell reportedly struck the victim multiple times, brandished a firearm, and fired a round out the vehicle window. The victim was able to escape by jumping from the moving vehicle. Campbell remains at large.

The King and Queen County Sheriff’s Office have obtained 10 charges against Campbell, including, but not limited to:
– Felony Domestic Assault
– Malicious Wounding
– Abduction
– Attempted Murder
– Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon

An Emergency Protective Order was issued on behalf of the victim. Campbell is wanted out of multiple other jurisdictions.
