A retired Navy fighter pilot, who as a child of a single mom depended for a time on public assistance, is the latest Democrat aiming to unseat Rep. Rob Wittman, R-1st.
Jason Knapp says running for Congress is a chance to stand up for things that made a difference in his life, as well as his mother’s, and for millions more Americans.
Knapp is one of nine Democrats seeking the party’s nomination to challenge Wittman, who has represented the district since 2007.
Knapp lives in the Northern Neck community of Reedville, in Northumberland County, in the northern reaches of the district.
