Virginia did not attract a swarm of new residents in 2025, according to several companies that help people move. But it did not lose a huge number of residents, either.
According to U-Haul, essentially the same number of people moved into the state as those who departed, and Virginia fell 19 spots to 36th in the country for most growth.
Data from United Van Lines paints a slightly more positive picture. About 52% of their moving vans here were arrivals, and the state ranked 23rd.
