The Virginia Supreme Court will have the next and final say on the legality of a proposed constitutional amendment to allow the General Assembly — not a bipartisan redistricting commission — to redraw the state’s congressional voting map.
The Virginia Court of Appeals on Wednesday elevated to the state Supreme Court a pending appeal of a Tazewell County judge’s ruling that would invalidate the initial adoption of the proposed constitutional amendment on Oct. 31.
