FREDERICKSBURG – A closure of Thompson Avenue at the intersection with Route 30 (King William Avenue) in the Town of West Point has been rescheduled to begin on Monday, March 9.
Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) crews will close this short section of Thompson Avenue to complete concrete repairs near the Route 30 intersection.
Route 30 will remain open during the work.
During construction, through traffic on Thompson Avenue will be detoured to Mattaponi Avenue and E. Magnolia Avenue.
Message boards will be posted to alert travelers to the road closure and detour.
Work is anticipated to be complete by Friday, March 13, weather permitting.
