Gov. Abigail Spanberger on Tuesday ceremoniously signed more than 20 bills aimed at gun violence prevention in the commonwealth.
The new laws include a ban on the sale, purchase and manufacturing of assault weapons, as defined in the legislation, and magazines holding more than 15 rounds. There are several lawsuits challenging the constitutionality of the ban.
