The transportation company CSX is beginning to remove the grain that was dumped into the James River last week after one of its trains derailed in Richmond.

CSX crews are also repairing the second damaged railroad track that was pulled up during the derailment. The track itself is expected to be returned to service tomorrow, according to the company.

The three cars that derailed last week are still in the canal. CSX crews have begun removing the spilled grain from the canal in order to prepare for the safe removal of the cars. This process is expected to last through the upcoming weekend at a minimum.
