Two men are facing murder charges in connection with a shooting incident that occurred early on Saturday morning July 11th.
Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office deputies responding to a report of shooting located a deceased individual with gunshot wounds in the 4300 block of Neenah Road. An invistigation led to the discovery that the shooting had actually occurred about 3 1/2 miles away in the 400 block of Pierce Lane. Officials seized four firearms, two vehicles, cell phones, ammunition and clothing.
23 year old Derrick L. Ford of King George and 24 year old Kindrick L. Smith of Colonial Beach were arrested without incident on Thursday, July 16th. Each has been charged with one count of 2nd Degree Murder. Neither received bond and are being held in Northern Neck Regional Jail awaiting their first court appearances. The investigation continues and additional charges are pending.
