Fourteen Democratic members of the General Assembly are asking Gov. Abigail Spanberger to call a special session to extend the timeline for state regulators to review NextEra Energy’s proposed acquisition of Dominion Energy.
The Code of Virginia says the State Corporation Commission has up to 180 days to consider utility mergers. If the commission doesn’t act by that time, approval is automatically granted.
