AARP Virginia is urging people to be wary of QR codes to protect themselves from an emerging scam tactic known as “squishing.”
According to the release, “squishing” is a scam in which stickers are placed over legitimate QR codes in public places, allowing scammers to steal money and personal information when the fraudulent codes are scanned.
