The House of Delegates passed bills Thursday to rein in federal immigration agents, whose aggressive acts under President Donald Trump’s mass deportation push, along with their fatal shootings of two U.S. citizens during protests in Minneapolis, have sparked widespread concern.

One measure, House Bill 650, limits what federal immigration officials can do in and around courthouses, schools and hospitals.

The House also passed a measure, House Bill 1441, that bars state and local law enforcement officers from enforcing federal immigration law or helping federal immigration officers in their enforcement actions.
