Public trust is beginning to fray in New Kent County in an intensifying debate over potential data center development.

A group of New Kent residents, represented by a former state senator from Northern Virginia who has long battled the data center industry, says that a member of the board of supervisors who voted for a contentious industrial and commercial rezoning in July should have publicly disclosed before the vote that he was selling a separate property to the same developer.
