Early voting five days before Tuesday’s special election on a new congressional map now totals 18% of active registered voters, data from the state Department of Elections shows.
The total of nearly 1.1 million ballots is running behind early voting at the same stage in last year’s gubernatorial election, when Virginians cast 1.4 million ballots, representing 24% of registered active voters.
