After a prolonged delay, the Virginia Department of Education says it will release teaching guides for the state’s new history standards by the week of May 12.
Acting Superintendent Emily Anne Gullickson, the state’s former deputy secretary of education, leads the department following the abrupt resignation of former superintendent Lisa Coons last week.
