FREDERICKSBURG  – All lanes of Interstate 95 southbound are now open at mile marker 108 in Caroline County, around two miles south of exit 110 (Ladysmith).

Crews have finished an emergency road repair to restore the travel surface in the left and center lanes. An earlier crash and vehicle fire involving a trash truck and a tractor-trailer damaged more than 150 feet of roadway. Crews had to mill, pave, and stripe the affected area to establish a safe driving surface. A single southbound travel lane was able to reopen this afternoon after the crash debris was cleared.

Southbound interstate delays currently begin around mile marker 112 on I-95. Updated traffic conditions will be available on 511Virginia as residual congestion clears the area.

The I-95 Southbound Safety Rest Area in Ladysmith, located at mile marker 107, has also reopened.
