During a special called meeting on December 14th, the Essex County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to appoint April L. Rounds as their permanent County Administrator and Clerk of the Board.
Ms. Rounds has been serving in the interim capacity since December of 2022. Chairman of the Board, Rob Akers, said that the board members are more than excited to appoint Ms. Rounds to the position of County Administrator. He praised Rounds for doing a phenomenal job for them during the past year. According to Akers, after a thorough recruitment process, the Board reached the unanimous conclusion that she was the best fit for Essex county and to lead their staff for years to come. Ms. Rounds appointment is effective as of December 15th, this year.
