Sheriff W.A. “Arnie” Holmes announced that a search warrant was executed on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at a residence located at 11544 Tidewater Trail in Caret.
The search warrant stemmed from an operation where the Fairfax Police Department and the Essex County Sheriff’s Office determined a stolen vehicle was located at the Caret address in Essex County.
The search warrant and investigation were a joint operation with the Fairfax Police Department, the Virginia State Police, the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, the Tappahannock Police Department, and the Essex County Sheriff’s Office. As a result of the search, authorities seized six stolen vehicles.
Arrested on scene was Jerry Larnor (DOB 12-21-1980) of Essex County. Larnor was arrested and charged with six counts of receiving stolen property. The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges are expected.
