Several members of the United States Senate, including Tim Kaine, D-Va., have co-sponsored a bill to deter hazing on college campuses. The measure is similar to a law passed in Virginia last year in response to the death of Virginia Commonwealth University student Adam Oakes.

If passed, the bill would require colleges to report incidents of hazing each year and conduct hazing-prevention education.
