After a bruising year, Virginia Republicans will choose a new party leader in January to lead opposition to the state’s new Democratic leaders and the possibility of partisan congressional redistricting.

So far, four candidates have announced that they intend to seek the chairmanship of the Republican Party of Virginia: two members of the State Central Committee and two former congressional candidates.
