A local lawyer said he will not prolong his lawsuit against the city of Richmond, allowing city leaders to issue bonds to fund construction of a baseball stadium at the Diamond District.

Paul Goldman said Friday that he will not file an appeal in his lawsuit, which a Richmond judge tossed out earlier this month.

The news comes too late for the city to save $24 million in state sales tax revenue. There isn’t enough time left for the city to issue the bonds before the June 30 deadline, according to a spokesperson for the city.
